A really bad day

Well, I've decided I should probably get around to telling you about a terrible day I had Tuesday.

I'll tell you the condensed version though. I had a test in Astronomy, and it probably wouldn't have been as bad had my prof been there to answer questions and/or help out on the exam! So, I turn in an exam only worth 20 points, but contributing roughly 12.5% of my grade, that I think I did absolutely terrible on! So I'm not feeling too good. I feel like throwing up I'm so sick over it. I head to my car so I can just go home and lay down for a bit.

I get on the expressway and everything's fine until my battery light comes on. I panic, get off the expressway at the very next exit. I pull into the closest building (which happened to be a Lutheran church) and call home. It's my luck that my dad's home early from his business trip. He tells me to rev my engine and see if it stays on, which it does. I'm about 6 miles from home right now. He says to start heading home, and go as far as I can, hopefully making it home. It's like 7 right now, so it's pitch black. I have no choice but to keep my headlights on. I've shut everything off and am FREEZING in my car. I stay on the phone, incase anything goes wrong. Which things do go wrong!

All the lights inside highlighting things start to dim, and the noise the blinker makes when it's turned on is going 3x as slow as it normally is. I'm freaking out! I manage to get about 4 miles before it starts really acting up. My speedometer is bouncing up and down however it pleases ranging from 70 down to 0 back to 80 down to 30 in a matter of seconds. It was like it was bobbing up and down with the bumps! Not only that, but I started to lose control of my steering and my accelerator is acting on its own. I tapped it to get it up a hill and it FLOORED it. It was at this point that I pull into the next closest building (a Catholic church) slam on my breaks with both feet to stay still to put it in park.

My dad tells me to try and keep it running. I try revving the engine like earlier, only this time it shuts off. Great. Now I'm stuck. I wait for him to get there, while still talking to my mom on the phone. So glad I have a cell phone. He tries jumping the car, manages to get it a quarter mile before it craps out in the middle of a busy street (Coolidge for those of you that know it). To which we just call AAA to have it towed to my house.

I still don’t have my car working yet, nor do I know my grade on that test.
